Hi all,
I've been looking at picking up an 8 weight I could use on the San Francisco beaches for stripers & leopard sharks, delta for stripers, and on the rivers for salmon and steelies...
I was thinking about getting a tip flex T3 from Orvis. Looking at the tip flex to allow me to cast into the SF and delta winds. It's running about $550 and would be looking for something up to and around that amount.
Does anyone have experience with the T3 tip flex or similiar in Sage, Winston, etc... ?
Guidance for new 8 wt.

Temo, I have the T3 tip flex in a 5-weight. I like it. In fact, I had never considered buying a T3 until a float trip on the Snake several years ago, where the guides -- Orvis-endorsed -- had it as their go-to rod. I pounded the banks all day long with weighted streamers and was impressed with how easy the rod was to cast. So I bought one.
