I could spare some time Friday the 15th if that works for you. Is this a possibility? If you know nothing about Keswick we need to have further conversation to see of it's right for you. Will it be you and your wife, (I seriously doubt she will find the shopping in Redding anything to write home ab...

from Chip O'Brien

Thanks for the shameless plug! Turns out I DID happen to notice this inquiry. Here's an offer you can't refuse... Let me know when you plan to be in Redding and, if it fits into my schedule, I will take you to Keswick for free. ( Ahem , I get to fish too, right?) As a matter of fact, I need a day o...

Lower Sac Great Guides

If you're considering hiring a guide to float the lower Sac any time soon, you now have an opportunity to leave something more behind than just trout with sore lips. Of course there are many talented guides who drift the lower Sac, but three from The Fly Shop in Redding are actively participating i...

Russ Peak fly rods

I own three Russ Peak fly rods I haven't fished in years, and I wouldn't mind selling them. All are graphite, but I recollect some may have boron tip sections. (Russ liked to mix medias to get a particular action.) I have no idea of the value. All are in good/excellent condition. Can anyone help? M...

Golden trout, the Sierra Nevada, the sky... all the same colors, just mixed up differently. Awesome.

I just emailed your wonderful story to my two sons who are away at college. Last time I got a lump in my throat like that was when recently watched the final scene of "A River Runs through It" for the zillionth time.

This father can relate.

Great story!

That parrot and eyepatch... were they the Simms version or Cabela's?

What a beautiful scene! Only I'm always torn between fishing and snowboarding. (I saw that dusting on the hills in the background!)

A beer?, Actually, Huck, that happened to me! Several years ago I was guiding on my birthday. Apparently I had worn out my clients early and they called it quits around dinner time. I grabbed my 3-weight rigged with a little dry fly and headed for a place on the Pit River where there are usually ri...

Huck,

I would have been one of those guys applauding. Well done. How could a last day be better than that?

the 2004 season...

It is now more than one hour past sunset, and most of the premier trout streams around here are closed until the last Saturday in April, 2005. Of course, there is still fishng, but our options have been greatly limited. Let's celebrate the season past with memories from this past year. Since I'm st...
