Lake temp is up to 53 - 54degr. & the trout are cruising & looking for something to eat. Boulder Bay, the Observatory, & north shore from Grays toward the dam are good producers. Trout are cruising at 12 - 15 feet while the sun is up. Black buggers are working well. TL's...K <>< <><
My father and I will be in Big Bear beginning of July I was trying to get info on bear creek. My father is starting to have a tough time with hiking so I was wondering if there was any easier access from big bear to the creek that do not involve 1100 foot drop over one mile. Possibly from near the dam that will at least provide a small amount of access to us since we have never fly fished still water.

Arizfish, I just got back from vacation & saw your post. Email me at kflies@charter.net . Deep Creek or SantaAna River, both are about a 35 - 45 min. drive from Big Bear, have easy access for some some small stream fishing..
