John Dietsch, location scout from A River Runs Through It will speak at Doc's Ski Haus of Santa Monica on March 30th, 2008.

Here is more info on the event:

The Fly Fishing Grand Opening Event will be held on March 30th, 2008 at Doc’s Ski Haus. Doc’s Ski Haus, with over 50 years of experience in the ski industry, is venturing into the fly fishing market carrying a complete line of fly fishing gear and apparel.

The Grand Opening will include speakers such as John Dietsch, coordinator and location scout for A River Runs Through It and founder/CEO of Hook.tv as well as Shane Chung, expert guide and tier, who will be discussing Southern California fly fishing as well as showing some of his best flies.

“I grew up going to Doc’s Ski Haus,” said Dietsch, “It makes sense for Doc’s to be a fly shop for the growing number of fly fisherman. I just love that there will be a shop where I can get my gear locally – I’ll be one of your best customers!”

During the grand opening, customers will enjoy a 10% discount on all fly fishing gear and apparel. Doc’s is proud to be a licensed Orvis dealer with an expert staff fully equipped to outfit any fisherman from newbie to pro. In addition, Doc’s will regularly provide classes and speakers for those who are just getting started or who want to learn new techniques for casting, tying, etc.

“When we decided to carry fly fishing gear, we knew we wanted to do it right,” explained David Craycraft, owner of Doc’s Ski Haus. “We spent a year and a half preparing and we’ve brought on people to lead the staff who have years and years of experience in the industry. We’re really excited about it.”

With over 16 Million proclaimed members of the fly fishing community world wide, the need for readily available, high-quality gear and reliable customer service is high. Until now, anglers in Southern California have had only a few trusted local establishments in which to turn for their fly fishing needs.

Doc's is located at 3101 Santa Monica Blvd and admission to the event is FREE
