What do you experienced float tubers wear between your stockingfoot waders and your fins?
My regular felt-sole wading boots get rather heavy and tiresome to kick. Some guys I know wear aqua socks or scuba diving slippers because they're light, don't fill with a lot of water, and allow their ankles to flex, but the dive slippers are somewhat difficult to stretch over the foot of the waders. Cabelas makes a side-zip neoprene wading boot with a glued-on felt sole that seems like it might be a compromise. Any thoughts?

I've been using my Simms Lightweight Aquastealth Wading Boots with my Adjustable Force Fins. They are like wearing tennis shoes.

I've used those zip up flats boots that Cabela's sells before. They're fine. Lately, I just use regular wading boots with a set of adjustable Force fins.

I've used Hogeman's and Glacier Gloves...the Gloves have velcro fasteners & the Hogeman's have zippers. IMHO, I think the velcro is a better way to go (for tubing) because I've found the zippers often times get stuck & difficult to zip...the velcro, well, pull - push & you're done. RFT

We were just looking at the new Chota Float Tubing Booties that are $59.95 and are the best we have seen.
You need to take your waders in and try on the booties and then try on fins over the waders and booties to get a proper fit.
With booties on you can still walk around a bit without ruining your neoprene stocking feet on your waders.

Hi All:
This is strictly low-tech, but I've worn inexpensive tennis shoes for many years while float tubing. In the old days, when we would float tube for bass a lot on the lower Colorado River, we would wear the heel fins which propell you forward instead of backwards like Force Fins or swim fins do. With these you could walk easily, and we did a lot of walking to reach pothole lakes. This would wear out felt soles quickly, and there was enough sharp rock and cactus around to make light wading shoes a problem. I just bought a pair of high-top style tennis shoes, dyed them green and used them. The last pair I bought was about 10 years ago, and they are still usable.-- and very cheap!

Hello
Ive used what are called water socks. You can get them from K-mart ,Target etc. They are a mesh upper with rubber soles From 4 to 10 dollars. Just get them oversize to fit snugly on your waders.

I've been using my Simms breathable Waders,
lightweight wadeing Booties with zippers on the side,
fitted with my Adjustable Force Fins.
All this for my 9 foot Poonton boat.

Hey Dave!
I second the Chotas. I have 'em, and they work great! I've even waded in 'em before (Long story involving a newly sharpened bugger and a non-kevlar tube). Feel nice and secure with the straps.

I bought some light weight velcro booties, Hodgeman I believe, and love them. Got tired of fussing with zippers as well. Nothing like being tired and can't get them off. You can find them at Sport Chalet pretty cheap. Like $29.00 or so.
My 2 cents

I am going to go pick up a pair.
I just brought a #1 and a #3 Ross Evolution Large Arbor reels.
I am stoked and ready to go fishing.
I love the Ross reels.
I also got a good deal on a new 7 foot.8 inch - 3wt. Echo2 Rod with 2 tips with differing actions;
one tip is marked “A” for accuracy and the other “D” for distance..
http://www.echoflyfishing.com/echo2.php
I broke my ankle two and a half months ago.
And I am suffering from cabin fever.
Never go shopping when you have cabin fever; LOL
Boy I want to go fishing bad.
A trip to Bishop would be nice way to end the year.
or trip down the lower Owens
Steve

Perfect time for Eastern Sierra fishin'. Limited crowds, water is coolin' and the fish are spawning = big ones to be caught.
LOL
Mike

Deep Creek is in the San Burnadeno Mt. range
It is a small creek compared to what you must be used to.
I would love to hook up with you some time.
I think thursday I am going to the Santa Anna.
do you want to go?
