Post subject: Cicadas: bugs of NorCal
PostPosted: Fri Jan 28, 2005 7:06 pm
Hi - a question for the northern California bug experts. How prevalent are cicadas in the upper Scott and Shasta valleys? Do they hatch each year or are these cicadas the periodic type that only hatch in 13 and 17 year cycles? Any online references will be appreciated.

Had what I thought was a great year in 2003 fishing cicada patterns, but they were not a factor last year. I am wondering if that coincides with cicada activity in those parts of California.

Thanks
Wes

P.S. a long shot... but worth the try *grin*
