Anyone fish the NZMS infested streams having problems with your gear due to repeated mollusk killings? I am interested in seeing if the bleach, votingmachines Seed Extract, freezing, etc, is detrimental to gear. I am thinking of buying dedicated gear, but need to justify the expense.
My understanding is that the DFG should be finishing its tests fairly soon. They're examining both the ability of certain chemicals to kill NZMS, along with how these chemicals affect wading gear. Ralph Cutter, BTW, was instrumental in getting gear donated for the tests, and deserves thanks from California fly fishers.
