My wife and I spent 10/17 - 10/20 fishing in the Bridgeport area. The weather and the waters were just about perfect in both the East and West Walker Rivers. The days were clear and cool, the nights in the 20's.
We caught a number of both Rainbow and Brown Trout. Brown Trout were caught in both the East Walker River and Rush Creek. All fish were caught on tan Fox's Poopah, #16 and brown Peeking Caddis, #16.
The attached photo is of a 20" Alpers Trout caught in the West Walker River about 1 mile south of the town of Walker. Believe it or not... 4 casts, two trout just like the photo. Except for size, my wife, as usual, outfished me.
In other words, north of, oh, Visalia
