After I saw the article on Lyell Fork, I made it a goal to fish it this September. I have never been to this area and I don't know if waders are necessary. It sounds as though you fish from the bank a lot. Can anyone tell me if I need the waders, and also anythng that could help me have a good day on the water. I plan to hike in after trying to find where to park ad catch the JMT. I don't know how far to expect hiking.
