Richard, are you scheduling an article on "Furled Leaders"??
I am reading more about them in the fishing brochurers, and know so little about their construction, how it works, why change from knot-less tapered leaders to Furled Leaders?

Wayne, thanks for the post. I have no plans to run a story on furled leaders, mostly because no one has offered to write one. (In other words, I'm open to the idea.) FYI, a very useful discussion of furled leaders can be found in Darrel Martin's Micropatterns (Lyons & Burford, 1994), which is a wonderful instructional book about tying and fishing small flies. Martin is an advocate of furled leaders, and discusses their pros and cons and provides instruction on how to create 'em yourself.
