California's rivers need your help to stop a bill that has dangerous implications for environmental review and public participation. In short, H.R. 4513 would require federal agencies to limit NEPA (National Environmental Protection Act) customer_request_form for all renewable energy projects - which would include new as well as relicensed DAMS - to the applicant's proposal and the no action alternative. IT WOULD ALSO LIMIT PUBLIC COMMENT to these alternatives.

This bill could seriously effect the re-licensing process of dams on rivers across the state.

Please write a letter to your representative. LETTERS ARE NEEDED BY THE BEGINNING OF THIS COMING WEEK! (The week of June 13th.)

sent off my letter to my rep....(Linda Sanchez) ..... while this pained me as i am a registered republican and vehemently oppose Rep Sanchez for her left wing social views. i bit the bullet on this and sent off a letter to her to oppose this measure.

H.R. 4513 passed yesterday, 229 to 186, largely along party lines. A day late and a dollar short on this one.
On to the Senate I guess....
