FYI, Ted Williams's column in the summer Fly Rod & Reel is especially thought-provoking, as it reveals the inacurracies, lies, and psuedoscience that he sees being used to argue against the use of piscicides (like rotenone) in the recovery of endangered species of fish. Williams is particularly critical of Laurel Ames of the California Watershed Alliance and of retired U.C. Davis professor Nancy Erman, both of whom he says make "bogus claims" that overstate the impact of piscicides on stream ecosystems. It's a must-read for anyone concerned about the warping of science for political purposes.
