The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has released its draft recovery plan for Pauite cutthroat throat. According to the Service's press release, "Paiute cutthroat trout are only native to a 9-mile stretch of Silver King Creek, a major tributary to the East Fork of the Carson River located in Alpine County, California, in the eastern Sierra mountain range. ...This Plan is an update of a Recovery Plan the Service first prepared in 1985. This revised Plan will incorporate recent research data and address the species' current status, threats, distribution, and recovery needs. ...The goal of the Plan is to remove the species from the Endangered Species List."

Anglers interested in the recovery plan can get a copy by visiting http://nevada.fws.gov, or by phoning the Service at 775/861-6300. Written comments are due by 5:00 p.m. on March 25, 2004; comments should be mailed to Field Supervisor, Nevada Fish & Wildlife Office, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, 1340 Financial Blvd. #234, Reno, NV 89502.

Good information and I know few about this plan is that The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has released its draft recovery plan for Pauite cutthroat throat. The Lahontan cutthroat trout recovery plan of USFWS has as its goal the delisting of the fish after sufficient numbers.
