The Fly Shop in Redding has an excellent reputation. I would suggest booking a guide trip, as a lot of the water requires drift boating. Good water right in town though

Glad you got it. Those hills in the background are where the Martis Fire went through a few years ago. It's recovering nicely and is providing huge feed for the deer there.

Chip, I VAGUELY recall turning 50 :) It's a great thing you did with those cancer patients! I guess my most memorable day this year was last Sunday, my "last day of the season." Like last year, I was content to cruise up the Little Truckee, stopping to look for eagles working the Kokanee run, watchi...

H.R. 4513 passed yesterday, 229 to 186, largely along party lines. A day late and a dollar short on this one.
On to the Senate I guess....

Personally, I doubt that quarterly monitoring is sufficient, but that's a very subjective opinion. If you think about it, it's possible that a single major stormwater event could result in major nutrient loading downstream (the reservoir), while monitoring the remainder of any given year could resul...

Re: Nutrient loading from development.
That indeed, is the big issue, particularly with the county's amending the general plan, to allow more building. I wonder if there's any baseline data collected before Lahontan was built?

Yeah, I didn't think of stormwater runoff. Rather I was thinking in sort of continuum terms (maybe erroneously). I suspect more frequent sampling would be helpful, particularly Spring/Summer. Has nutrient loading been documented in Martis Res.?
