Re: Bigfoot Wading Shoes

14 extra wide?! Ouch. I'm amazed you found shoes at all! I wear a wide 12, and luckily, Walmarts around here carry plenty of stuff in that size. I'm currently rocking the Ozark Trail "River" model shoes. I upgraded from the old "Boulder" model. Pretty tough frame, but if you don'...

Re: Mono Hot Springs

I usually fish the western Sierras, but I'm planning a trip in October to the Mono Hot Springs area. Any suggestions as to flies one would be using for brownies and rod wt? I like a 5 wt for just about everything. There are some big fish up there, so i wouldn't mess with the 3wts or anything. As fo...

Wide open fly fishing on the SAR (lots of pics).....

Headed up to the river friday for a bit of creek therapy and to break in my new Okuma Sierra. Fished from the campground to the interpretive area. Long story short, I came, I saw, I caught fish, lol. Lots of fish! It was funny, I was slaying 'em one after another, and the whole time, the bait soaker...

Re: FF spots for trout, small mouth, beach in so cal?

:D Hi there Flytop I hear where you are coming from. Having lived in Woodinville , Wa I know what a luxury it was to have a river just 15 to 30 minutes from one's door step. Re your question there is the Santa Ana River off of Hwy # 18. Then there are the west & east forks of the San Gabriel Ri...

First post and report. Fly fishing the SBNF (pics)...

Howdy, guys. First post here. Been looking for a Socal fly fishing forum for awhile. This one looks good, and has some great info as well. I've read most of the forum, and though I've never met SocalFF, I actually miss him, lol! I notice traffic is down lately, but if we post enough cool reports, I ...
